France Pierson’s Current Favorites
We reached out to professional makeup artist France Pierson to see what she’s keeping in her makeup kit for mature skin. In her 25-year career, Pierson has created thousands of beautiful looks on all types of skin. She’s known for a light touch, letting the natural skin shine through for a fresh look. She stepped away from set on a lunch break to share the products she’s reaching for most right now.
What guides your product choices when it comes to mature skin?
New makeup and beauty products are constantly launching, and I continue to try them. I find that certain products don’t work very well on maturing skin. We tend to be dry and fine lines (and some not so fine haha) are beginning to form around the eyes.
What products are you using most on over 40 skin?

Skin Prep
I always prep the skin with a good moisturizer plus add a couple drops of face oil mixed in. My go-to right now is Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin moisturizer and True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil.
For Eyes
I absolutely love the eye product from Dr. Brandt Needles No More. It’s an immediate firming and depuffing gel. It brightens and tightens the delicate skin around the eyes.
Concealer
Next, I go in with the Fara Homidi Essential Face Compact, concealer and highlighter palette. I’m obsessed with this product. Seriously amazing coverage with the short-handled Buffer brush from her line. Buy the brush. It’s shaped like a thumb and blends things beautifully.
If you’re using these in order:
The moisturizer and oil primes the skin.
The concealer palette blends out age-related spots.
The highlighter is a very sheer bit of sheen on the brow bone or cheekbones.
Mascara
The next thing on the list is Wrap Star tubing mascara. It’s a Beauty Pie product made in Korea. It’s my go-to mascara because it doesn’t budge all day and the formula stays smooth. Remove it with hot water and it comes right off, which is much easier on mature eye skin.
Lips
For lips, I really love the Westman Atelier Lip Suede small palette in Les Nudes. It has four nudes you can apply with your fingers. Sometimes I blend them together and swipe across the cheeks for a bit of color.
Final Touch
For the finish, I recommend a beautiful body oil I use often on mature skin. Leonor Greyl Huile de Magnolia. It’s deeply hydrating and the scent is beautiful.
How do you know when a product really works for mature skin?
As skin matures, the right products make all the difference in how makeup feels and wears. I always judge products by how they look and feel later in the day, not just in the mirror right after application. These are my go-to products because they hold up, stay comfortable, and let skin look natural without a lot of effort.
